Our terms of business evolve as our environment changes.  Their role is to be open and transparent in terms of how we do business. A logical guide to what you can expect from us and what we expect in return. They cover most eventualities and for those they don't,  we will discuss and aim to find a reasonable and logical solution. As a small business, we require prompt upfront payment (which can cause some discomfort within larger organisations).

Non refundable deposit

Our terms are 25% non-refundable deposit to confirm the booking, the dates remain open and bookable until the deposit payment has been received and confirmed back to you. 

Payment of balance

The balance will be invoiced to be paid and cleared one month before the event. (This may be reduced to two weeks for small events at my discretion.)

Guest numbers

We appreciate that numbers change. We base a proposal on a minimum number of guests as advised by you. If numbers increase, as long as we have decent notice we will do what we can to cater for them and charge accordingly. If numbers decrease, costs will not decrease pro-rata, however, there may be a slight reduction in some cost elements that we will aim to reflect, if possible.

Minimum order

Please be aware that we do work to a minimum order per event. For some smaller events we may suggest there are better value alternatives.


There are no refunds for cancellation. If government guidance or restrictions impact a previously arranged date, we will treat it as a postponement (less any costs incurred) and agree a new date.


If applicable, breakages, regardless of blame, are billable post event.

Allergies and Dietary requirements

All allergies and dietary requirements must be confirmed before your event. Please note our food is produced in kitchens that handle nuts, so meals are not suitable for people with severe nut allergies.

Post event nibbling

Any food consumed after the event is no longer the responsibility of Emily Rait.

Never-ending parties

Over-run of staff hours due to event timings will be payable to the staff after the event.



The official regulatory inspection result is 5 (Very Good).
