
TERMS, CONDITIONS & PAYMENT
Our terms of business evolve, their role is to be open and transparent in terms of how we do business. A logical guide to what you can expect from us and what we expect in return. They cover most eventualities and for those they don't, we will discuss and aim to find a reasonable and logical solution. As a small business, we require prompt upfront payment (which can cause some discomfort for organisations' processes).
We are obliged to charge 20% VAT. Our terms are 25% non-refundable deposit to confirm the booking, the dates remain open and bookable until the deposit payment has been received. The deposit is non-refundable.
Payment of balance
The balance will be invoiced to be paid and cleared one month before the event. (This may be reduced to two weeks for small events at my discretion.)
Guest numbers
We appreciate that numbers change. We base a proposal on a minimum number of guests as advised by you. If numbers increase, as long as we have decent notice, we will do what we can to cater for them and charge accordingly. If numbers decrease, costs will not decrease pro-rata, however, there may be a slight reduction in some cost elements that we will reflect, if possible.
Cancellation and postponement
There are no refunds for cancellation. If the event needs to be postponed due to an unforeseeable circumstance, part of the deposit may be used for a new agreed date less costs incurred.
Breakages
Breakages, regardless of blame, are billable post event.
Allergies and Dietary requirements
Following the introduction of Natasha’s Law, all allergies and dietary requirements must be confirmed before your event. Please note our food is produced in kitchens that handle nuts, so none of our meals are suitable for people with severe nut allergies.
Post event nibbling
Any food consumed after the event is no longer the responsibility of Emily Rait.
Never-ending parties
Any staff that that I require to stay past agreed event timings will be billable after the event at time-and-a-half.
Payment:
Payment can be made by cheque or bank transfer.

VAT:
VAT is payable on all goods and services at 20%. VAT registration number is GB440476209.
We are assessed by South Oxfordshire Food and Safety team every two years and have always achieved the top "VERY GOOD" food hygiene rating score of 5.
